LG Uplus Publishes Korea's First Interactive Sustainability Management Report
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Uplus announced on the 13th that it has published the 2019 Sustainability Management Report, the first among domestic telecommunications companies to communicate with stakeholders such as customers and shareholders in an 'interactive (two-way)' format.
In the CEO message accompanying the report publication, Ha Hyun-hoe, Vice Chairman of LG Uplus, emphasized that the company is fundamentally improving its way of working by leveraging 'Digital Transformation (DX)' being promoted across all business areas as a driving force.
Vice Chairman Ha explained that the company will focus on nurturing 'ABC (Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Cloud)' as a new core infrastructure that will determine the future competitiveness of the company, thereby further enhancing customer value.
This report divides the important issues selected through materiality assessment into 'Focused Reporting' and 'Sustainability Mechanism' parts, presenting the company's economic, social, environmental, and governance performance and future plans.
The core content, 'Value Creation Process,' has also been newly organized. The value creation process applies the non-financial information disclosure framework proposed by the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) to present the company's business performance and impact in an easy-to-understand chart format for stakeholders.
LG Uplus explained that the report was produced in an 'interactive PDF' format to reduce environmental burden and expand digital communication with report readers. The Sustainability Management Report can be viewed on the LG Uplus website.
