Bomb Threat Reported at COEX ASEM Tower... Police "No Explosives Found" (Comprehensive)
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Ji-hwan] A report of an explosive device being planted at ASEM Tower in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, was received by the police, causing an evacuation of people inside the building.
According to the police on the 10th, at around 6:12 PM, an unidentified man called and threatened, "If the money is not deposited by Monday, I will detonate the bomb."
The police, in cooperation with the fire department, dispatched the special police unit and four detection dogs to conduct a search operation for over two hours but reported that no explosive device was found. The situation was declared over around 8:45 PM, and the team withdrew from the scene.
