"Eliminating Unnecessary Documents and Expanding Online Applications" ... Improving Civil Service
Guide the person in charge to submit only necessary documents after verifying administrative information sharing
Comprehensive revision of civil service processing standards centered on users
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] In the future, the number of documents that civil petitioners must submit when applying for civil services at administrative agencies will be reduced, making the application process more convenient.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 10th that it has conducted a comprehensive revision of the civil petition processing standards table, which contains 5,547 types of civil petition information operated by each ministry based on laws and regulations.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety conducts a comprehensive revision every two years to provide accurate civil petition information to the public.
This year, through administrative information sharing, if the information is held by administrative agencies, civil petitioners no longer need to submit it, and public officials can verify it directly, reducing the burden of submitting required documents for petitioners. As a result, 85 required documents for 69 types of civil petitions were reduced.
Additionally, civil petitions that were newly established or abolished due to the enactment or revision of laws but had not been organized, as well as civil petition information such as application methods and required documents that had changed but were not updated, were revised.
The ministry identified and registered 48 types of civil petitions that had not been registered in the civil petition processing standards table for more than a year despite the enactment or revision of laws, and deleted 11 types of civil petitions that had not been applied for in the past five years and whose necessity had decreased.
Furthermore, civil petitions that could be applied for online but were guided to be applied for by visit or mail, or those that caused inconvenience due to unreflected changes in processing periods or fees, were corrected.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety explained that as a result of this revision, the number of statutory civil petitions increased by 127, totaling 5,674 types. A total of 169 new civil petitions were registered, including 121 newly established due to enactment or revision of laws and 48 long-term unregistered petitions, while 42 civil petitions were deleted from the standards table, including 28 abolished due to legal amendments, 3 merged or consolidated similar petitions, and 11 petitions with no applications in five years.
