Garcia's record of consecutive major appearances spanning over 20 years has been interrupted. He appeared in 84 majors from the 1999 Open Championship through this year's US Open. The all-time record in this category is held by Jack Nicklaus (USA), who appeared in 146 consecutive majors from the 1962 US Open to the 1998 US Open. Garcia's sole major victory was at the 2017 Masters, and he finished as runner-up four times: at the 1999 and 2008 PGA Championships, and the 2007 and 2014 Open Championships.
