Nine out of Ten Citizens "Endure Delivery Delays for the Sake of Delivery Workers"
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] A government survey revealed that nine out of ten citizens are willing to tolerate delivery delays or partial increases in delivery fees if it means improving the working conditions of delivery workers.
The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission announced on the 10th that, from the 29th of last month to the 5th of this month, it surveyed 1,628 people through the 국민생각함 (People's Thoughts) website regarding 'Improvement of Delivery Workers' Working Environment,' and over 70% responded in this way.
Regarding the necessity of mandatory industrial accident insurance enrollment for delivery workers, 95.9% of respondents agreed, and 95.6% supported the question, "Should excessive working hours of workers be reduced?"
When asked, "Should the sorting tasks and delivery tasks be separated?" 93.4% of respondents agreed.
When asked whether they could tolerate delivery delays that might occur due to the introduction of such policies and systems, 87.2% of respondents said they could if it meant improving the treatment of delivery workers.
Furthermore, 73.9% of respondents agreed to a partial increase in delivery fees if the additional fees were used to improve the treatment of delivery workers.
