Tanzania Umtwara Travel Alert Raised to 'Withdrawal Recommended'... Expansion of IS Activity Area
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 9th that it has raised the travel advisory for the entire Mtwara region in Tanzania to Level 3, recommending evacuation.
This adjustment comes in response to the recent expansion of extremist armed groups, based in northern Mozambique, into southern Tanzania, including attacks by IS members on police stations in the Mtwara area, raising concerns about the safety of Korean nationals in the region.
