According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 9th, Mr. A, residing in Gakhwa-dong, Buk-gu, was confirmed positive in a COVID-19 test this morning and was classified as the 520th confirmed case in the region.
Mr. A began showing symptoms such as fever and cough from the 6th and underwent testing the previous day.
The infection route is under investigation. It was confirmed that he had contact on the 4th at a friend’s house who moved to Gwangju on the 28th of last month.
Health authorities are identifying contacts within Gwangju Correctional Institution, Mr. A’s workplace, and are conducting tests on about 40 people and 2 close contacts.
