[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 9th that it held an awards ceremony for the ‘Naju Local Food Youth Drawing Contest’ at the Local Food Direct Store Geumnam Branch (Geumnawarak) on the 6th.
This contest was organized to provide an opportunity for students in their adolescence, when eating habits are formed, to understand and share the public value of local food through artistic creative activities related to locally sourced food.
Under the themes ‘Naju Local Food, More Delicious the More You Live’ and ‘Naju Local Food, More Missed the More You See,’ 77 works were submitted during the contest period from the 6th to the 8th of last month.
The city selected a total of 11 award-winning works (3 Grand Prizes, 3 Excellence Awards, 5 Encouragement Awards) by academic level: 4 in the elementary division, 4 in the middle school division, and 3 in the high school division, based on judging criteria such as relevance to the theme, creativity, and completeness.
The elementary division Grand Prize was awarded to Lee Minha, a 3rd grader at Bitgaram Elementary School, for the work titled ‘Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter of Naju Local Food,’ which creatively depicted the seasonal scenes of Naju Local Food direct stores.
Additionally, the middle school division Grand Prize went to Lee Hyukjun, a 2nd grader at Geumcheon Middle School, for ‘Family Love of Naju Local Food,’ which realistically portrayed the food actually sold at the direct store. The high school division Grand Prize was awarded to Yoon Eunseo, a 1st grader at Honam Horticulture High School, for ‘A House for Everyone Benefiting All,’ a sketch of the exterior of the direct store’s second branch, Geumnawarak.
Furthermore, the Excellence Awards were given to Choi Yeonwoo (Raon Elementary School 3rd grade), Park Minseo (Geumcheon Middle School 3rd grade), and Jang Seho (Bonghwang High School 1st grade).
