Jang Je-won: "People Power Party Alone Is Not Enough... Ahn Cheol-soo Must Hurry 'Opposition Realignment'"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Jang Je-won, a member of the People Power Party, raised his voice saying, "It is difficult to overcome the difficult political situation with the People Power Party's influence alone," and "We must hasten the opposition realignment theory advocated by Ahn Cheol-soo, the leader of the People Party."
On the morning of the 9th, Jang said through Facebook, "There is a need to deeply consider the opposition realignment theory advocated by Leader Ahn."
He said, "It is difficult to overcome the difficult political situation with the People Power Party's influence alone and win the upcoming by-elections and presidential election," adding, "The party's approval rating is stuck in the 20% range, proving that a new breakthrough is needed."
Jang emphasized, "President Kim Young-sam created a regime through integration with President Roh Tae-woo, and President Roh Moo-hyun did so through integration with Assemblyman Chung Mong-joon," adding, "Joining forces with the People Party is a much more persuasive integration than President Kim Young-sam's three-party integration or President Roh Moo-hyun's unification."
Regarding Kim Jong-in, the emergency committee chairman, rejecting an alliance with Leader Ahn, Jang criticized it as 'locked party politics (쇄당정치)' likening it to Heungseon Daewongun's isolationist policy, pointing out that "it is an obsession with vested interests and a futile pride."
He said, "Heungseon Daewongun clung to isolationist policies solely to protect the feudal monarchy, deepening Joseon's crisis," and criticized, "Kim Chairman's locked party politics deepen the opposition's crisis and may allow the Democratic Party's 100-year rule."

Jang said, "If we lose the by-elections next year, it will become difficult to create the next regime, and continuous defeats in the local elections held three months after the presidential election and the general elections held in the second year of the next government are easily predictable," adding, "The entire opposition must abandon all vested interests and move solely on the path of innovation and integration."
