Power Supply Cut on Yeongdong Line Donghae~Gangneung... About 200 KTX Passengers Disembark
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] Train operations have been suspended due to a power outage on the Yeongdong Line between Donghae and Gangneung, causing inconvenience to KTX passengers.
According to Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) on the 8th, at around 3:38 PM, the power supply between Jeongdongjin and Anin stations on the Yeongdong Line was cut off, resulting in the departure and arrival stations for KTX trains operating on this section being changed from Donghae Station to Gangneung Station.
Korail has disembarked all 226 passengers of the 3:40 PM train from Donghae to Cheongnyangni at Jeongdongjin and is transporting them to Gangneung Station using 15 buses.
Korail has decided to organize KTX trains departing from Gangneung Station for the convenience of passengers.
The shuttle Mugunghwa trains running between Donghae and Gangneung have also been suspended due to the power outage.

Korail dispatched an emergency repair team to the site immediately after the incident and is carrying out restoration work, but it is expected that recovery will be difficult within the day.
