A Man in His 30s Who Sent "Let's Meet" Texts to Dozens of Female College Students Sent to Prosecutors Without Charges
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghoon Jeong] The police have concluded that there is no criminal charge against a man in his 30s who requested meetings through the phone numbers of female university students.
According to the police on the 7th, the Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul recently sent Mr. A, who was accused of violating the Personal Information Protection Act, to the prosecution with a non-prosecution opinion (no charges).
It was investigated that Mr. A sent messages to female students attending Yonsei University and other schools, continued conversations, and requested meetings. It is known that he also made phone calls to some of them. The total number of victims was confirmed to be 65.
Mr. A admitted the charges to the police and reportedly said, "I have depression and panic disorder, and I did it because I was lonely."
