View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sunmi] Shinhan Bank announced on the 6th that it has established the ‘Shinhan Ombudsman’ system to verify the bank’s policies from the perspective of financial consumer protection.
The ‘Shinhan Ombudsman’ system reflects the will of Bank President Jin Ok-dong, who emphasized customer-centric management with ‘Customer First’ as the top priority value. It consists of five experts from various fields such as academia and the legal profession, and one investment product specialist company as members, who verify and improve various policies within the bank from the perspective of financial consumer protection.
The first term of the ‘Shinhan Ombudsman’ members lasts until December 31 of next year, and they regularly hold the ‘Ombudsman Council’ to review major consumer protection issues from the customer’s perspective. In addition, they will engage in practical activities such as providing advice on product selection and launch from an objective and independent viewpoint on an ongoing basis.
This year, Shinhan Bank introduced and operates the first investment product sales suspension system among commercial banks to protect investors, and established the Financial Consumer Protection Officer system to review various consumer protection-related systems, striving for customer-centric management.
