Ministry of Education Requests Restraint on Elementary After-School Care Classroom Strikes Due to Concerns Over Parent and Student Inconvenience

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Ahead of the strike by elementary school care workers scheduled for the 6th, the Ministry of Education requested the School Irregular Workers Solidarity Council to "refrain from striking in consideration of the inconvenience to parents and students."
They added, "Let's refrain from striking and find alternatives through social dialogue," noting that "everyone is facing difficulties due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19)."
To prepare for the gap on the day of the strike, the Ministry of Education stated, "We will minimize the inconvenience to parents and students," and "On the day of the strike, the education office will operate an emergency response system and asked for the cooperation of schools regarding the burden on principals, administrators, and teaching staff."
The Ministry of Education plans to work together to solve the problem through the 'Elementary Care Operation Improvement Council' going forward.
