Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Holds Regional Council Meeting to Promote Urban Convergence Special Zones
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] On the 6th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 5th that it will hold a regional council meeting involving local governments of five metropolitan cities at Pangyo 2nd Techno Valley.
The Urban Convergence Special Zone project aims to create a high-density innovative space platform equipped with excellent complex infrastructure such as industry, housing, and culture in the downtown areas of local metropolitan cities to attract companies and talent. It serves as a hub for the Regional Balanced New Deal and is being promoted as part of a new balanced development policy.
This regional council meeting was organized to gather local opinions during the special zone promotion process and to support customized special zone development directions for local governments, following the addition of the Regional Balanced New Deal to the Korean New Deal.
At this event, officials from the five local governments will visit the Corporate Support Hub, which supports early-stage startups, and the Corporate Growth Center, which supports companies in their 2nd to 3rd year growth stages, to attract companies and talent within the region. They plan to analyze key achievements and challenges and explore thematic directions for special zone development.
