The signing ceremony was held on the 30th of last month at Boseong Davichi Condo, attended by about 40 people including Association President No Junbok, division heads, heads of 22 city and county branches, and Kim Heechul, CEO of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Special Sales Branch of the Korea Virus Center.
The ceremony was organized to protect children with weak immunity and to establish a safe environment for infants and toddlers amid the increasing importance of quarantine, sterilization, and disinfection due to COVID-19.
Accordingly, the Jeonnam Daycare Center Association decided to distribute special-purpose sterilizing disinfectants safe for children and strengthen quarantine activities, while the Korea Virus Center will support special-purpose sterilizing disinfectants for children and conduct monthly quarantine volunteer activities targeting daycare centers in the Jeonnam region.
Until now, most daycare centers nationwide, including those in Jeonnam, have used sterilizing disinfectants containing harmful substances such as ethanol and chloric acid. However, the sterilizing disinfectant (Momrang Agirang) developed and released by the Korea Virus Center contains citrus extracts including flavonoids, citral, and tocopherol, as well as citric acid and lactic acid, with no preservatives or other chemical additives.
This product has been certified for sterilization power through antibacterial tests against harmful bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Klebsiella pneumoniae by the Korea Conformity Laboratories, a nationally accredited research institute. It has also received certification from the Ministry of Environment as a special-purpose product for children.
Currently, it is supplied to major domestic supermarkets and is used in over 1,000 postpartum care centers, daycare centers, and kindergartens nationwide.
President No Junbok said, "Daycare centers are living spaces for infants and toddlers with weak immunity, making them vulnerable to various infections and likely to lead to group infections. Through this agreement, we hope to create a safe and healthy environment not only for infants and toddlers but also for childcare staff, cooks, and parents involved with daycare centers."
