Jeongeup-si Opens 'Cheonsa Heroes' Complex Playground Facility
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 4th that the ambitious ‘Cheonsa Heroes’ complex playground facility, developed as a representative tourism project of Jeonbuk, officially opened on the 3rd.
‘Cheonsa Heroes’ is a tourism facility created to promote a joyful and free play culture for people of all ages, tailored to the higher quality of life standards of citizens.
With a total project cost of 4.92 billion KRW, the facility covers a building area of 2,280㎡ (approximately 690 pyeong). Construction began in December 2018 and was completed last May.
Unlike traditional playgrounds, it offers play facilities suitable for various age groups and can be used regardless of the weather throughout all four seasons.
The facility features 17 types and 39 play equipment items themed around indoor complex play, including tower climbing, screen baseball, shooting, and trampolines, designed to meet the needs of family users.
Play activity instructors and safety personnel are also assigned, and convenience spaces have been created for parents and citizens to rest.
Operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is only possible through on-site registration, and the facility is closed every Monday.
To prevent COVID-19, all visitors must wear masks, undergo temperature checks, and sanitize their hands before entry. The number of users is limited to 100 per hour.
The usage fee is 9,000 KRW per hour for children and adolescents, and 8,000 KRW for adults, with an additional 1,000 KRW charged for every 10 minutes exceeded.
Jeongeup citizens receive a 2,000 KRW discount, and national veterans, persons with disabilities, basic livelihood security recipients, and single-parent families can receive discounts upon presenting relevant documentation.

A city official stated, “Cheonsa Heroes is a unique and highly preferred tourism facility focused on children and adolescents in Korea. Based on this facility, we will establish a family-oriented experience and healing total tourism infrastructure linked with Naejangsan National Park to contribute to the revitalization of the tourism industry and local economy.”
