Now in its 17th year, the Win-Win Growth Week event is a statutory event jointly organized by the government and the private sector to promote win-win growth between large and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and to enhance public understanding.
Held under the theme ‘Smart Korea Made through Win-Win Cooperation,’ this year’s event was attended by Park Young-sun, Minister of SMEs and Startups, Kwon Ki-hong, Chairman of the Win-Win Growth Committee, Lee Hak-young, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Industry, Trade, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee, among others. The event included awards for win-win cooperation contributors, the signing ceremony for the 20th “Jasangan” company agreement, and the signing ceremony for the offset printing industry win-win cooperation agreement.
Considering the current situation transitioning to digital and non-face-to-face after COVID-19, the ceremony combined on-site award presentations with online participation and was broadcast live on the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ YouTube channel.
Jin Ok-dong, CEO of Shinhan Bank, received the Silver Tower Industrial Medal; Kim Kwang-wook, Vice President of SK Hynix, received the Bronze Tower Industrial Medal; and Yoo Byung-ok, Vice President of POSCO, received the Industrial Service Medal, among a total of 54 awardees honored.
CEO Jin launched the ‘Shinhan Corona Boritgogae Support Loan’ product, which applies interest deferral, by investing 200 billion KRW in venture investments for small business owners through the Jasangan company agreement to support self-employed individuals facing management difficulties due to COVID-19.
Vice President Kim selected ‘technology innovation companies’ among domestic semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment (SoBuJang) companies to strengthen their competitiveness and supported the localization of items monopolized by foreign companies.
Meanwhile, Korea Water Resources Corporation has stepped forward as the 20th Jasangan company (voluntary win-win cooperation company) to provide full-cycle support for innovative SMEs in the Green New Deal sector. Jasangan companies are voluntary win-win cooperation companies that share their strengths such as infrastructure and know-how not only with traditional first-tier partners but also with non-trading companies and small business owners.
Through this agreement, Korea Water Resources Corporation plans to support about 400 billion KRW over three years for investment, startup, technology development product purchase expansion, overseas joint ventures, and performance test facility construction to foster green unicorns.
