Hwasun-gun Secures 20.4 Billion KRW in National Funding for Next Year's Water Supply and Sewage Projects
[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Chung-gon) will promote eight new national subsidy projects in the water supply and sewage sectors in 2021.
According to the county on the 4th, the total project cost for the eight new projects is 38.5 billion KRW, with 20.4 billion KRW secured in national funds.
Next year's new national subsidy projects in the water supply sector include two projects such as the Smart Local Water Supply Support Project, totaling 4.7 billion KRW (3.3 billion KRW in national funds), and in the sewage sector, six projects including the Dongbokho Watershed Village Sewage Maintenance Project (Phase 2), totaling 33.8 billion KRW (17.1 billion KRW in national funds) were secured.
Accordingly, it is expected to contribute to improving residents' quality of life through stable tap water supply, preserving the quality of public water bodies, creating jobs, and revitalizing the local economy.
The county has been promoting basic and detailed design services since May to confirm the new national subsidy projects.
By conducting various technical diagnoses in advance, they secured an advantage over other local governments in competition and gathered sufficient persuasive materials for related ministries to secure national funds, leading to the promotion of eight new projects.
After applying for national funds, Governor Gu and related department officials frequently visited Jeollanam-do, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, and the National Assembly to actively secure national funds, resulting in securing more project funds compared to other local governments.
Sixteen ongoing national subsidy projects in the water supply and sewage sectors also secured 45.2 billion KRW (30.4 billion KRW in national funds) for next year's project costs, and are expected to be completed early.
