[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Moon In) is drawing attention for its efforts to support the growth of local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in collaboration with the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (Head Lee Haengman).
Buk-gu announced on the 4th that the mid-term results of the "Enterprise Growth Support Group," which provides expert matching consultation services covering overall management to local SMEs, have exceeded expectations.
The "Enterprise Growth Support Group" is a new policy project launched this year with a city budget support of 200 million KRW to respond to the increasing demand for SME consulting.
Accordingly, Buk-gu signed a business agreement with the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation in January and has been providing free expert consulting in three major areas?enterprise growth support, leap to a century-old company, and management innovation?to 50 promising local growth companies, with continuous positive outcomes.
First, through enterprise growth support consulting, 12 companies were selected for 16 government R&D public projects, receiving over 1.12 billion KRW in funding, and saw improvements in production quality such as increased productivity and reduced defect rates.
Additionally, the consulting contributed to 6 technology transfers, 7 patent applications, and 3 certification acquisitions, and 8 companies that received consulting were selected as excellent companies such as global small giants and premium small giants.
Furthermore, on the 6th, a "Century-Old Company Forum Founding General Meeting" will be held for second-generation managers of 19 companies, where customized consulting will be provided.
The "Management Innovation Leaders Academy," which has been held seven times this year with the participation of over 320 businesspeople, will conclude at the end of this month.
