In the Contactless Era, 'Copyright Technology' Academic Conference for a New Daily Life
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The "2020 International Copyright Technology Conference (ICOTEC)," hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and jointly organized by the Korea Copyright Commission and the Korea Copyright Protection Agency, will be held on the 4th at the JW Marriott Hotel in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
At this academic conference, experts from various domestic and international fields will give lectures on changes and the latest trends in copyright technology in response to the COVID-19 situation under the theme "Copyright Technology for a New Normal." In addition, presentations and discussions will continue on the impact of changes in content distribution and consumption in the new environment on future copyright technology.
Before the keynote presentations, Professor Choi Jae-bung of Sungkyunkwan University will deliver a speech on the topic "Phono Sapiens Era and Copyright Technology," and Karen Temple, Vice President of the Motion Picture Association of America, will give a lecture titled "Copyright and Technology in the Post-COVID-19 Era: Future Directions and Challenges."
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, only a minimal number of attendees will be present at the venue, and the event will be broadcast live online through the official website (http://icotec2020.kr).
During the conference, an awards ceremony recognizing achievements in the field of copyright technology development will also take place. Awards will be given in five categories, including the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award, the World Intellectual Property Organization Award, and the Chairman of the National Intellectual Property Committee Award. The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award will be presented to Professor Kim Mi-hye of Chungbuk National University for her contributions to the advancement of copyright technology.
