Pohang City Opens Yeonil Public Library... Establishes Youth-Focused 'UCC Room'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] After breaking ground in July last year, the Pohang Yeonil Public Library officially opened its doors on the 3rd, just over 1 year and 3 months later.
According to Pohang City on the 4th, Yeonil Public Library was built with a total budget of 3.8 billion KRW, including 1.44 billion KRW from the national government, 500 million KRW from the provincial government, and 1.86 billion KRW from the city government. It has a total floor area of 1,171㎡ and consists of two above-ground floors. It is equipped with various small-scale spaces including a reference room.
The first floor consists of a toddler and children's reference room, nursing room, toddler restroom, multipurpose room, and office. The second floor includes a general reference room, reading club room, UCC room, and book cafe.
In particular, as the seventh municipal library, Yeonil Public Library is specialized for youth, with a separate youth book corner. It has established a UCC room where visitors can create videos themselves, keeping pace with creativity and the non-face-to-face era.
