Introducing Products Through Live Commerce Operations
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] SSG.com is strengthening its V-commerce. By exclusively selling products planned by YouTube creators, it aims to increase communication with the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) and introduce products through the live commerce platform ‘Ssg Live’.
SSG.com announced on the 4th that starting from the 5th, it will collaborate with CJ ENM’s one-person creator support project, DIA TV, to exclusively sell products planned by YouTube creators.
The first product is two types of hot dogs developed by ‘Kkulki,’ who has 2.16 million subscribers. Featuring flavors of ‘Jalapeno & Cheddar Cheese’ and ‘Sweet Potato & Mozzarella,’ the hot dogs are characterized by chewy dough and juicy sausages. The YouTube creator, known for introducing easy cooking methods, came up with a differentiated hot dog product as a simple snack to eat. This product can be ordered through SSG.com’s ‘Ssg Delivery’ and ‘Dawn Delivery’ services.
SSG.com plans to continuously release new products every two weeks. On the 19th, ‘Sanjeok TV Bapgubnam,’ the 홍천-gun promotional ambassador with 1.25 million subscribers, will introduce ‘Hongcheon Glutinous Corn’ and ‘Gangwon Myeonginamul,’ and on the 3rd of next month, mukbang creator ‘Ipjjalbeun Haetnim,’ who has 1.48 million subscribers, will recommend products for sale.
SSG.com explained, “We decided to collaborate with DIA TV to expand touchpoints with the MZ generation, who are familiar with video media, and to attract a younger customer base.” They added, “We will make it the only channel where you can purchase products introduced by creators with a strong fan base to secure ‘fansumers.’”
Meanwhile, to strengthen V-commerce, SSG.com plans to continue operating the live commerce platform ‘Ssg Live,’ which was first introduced through Korea’s SSG Day. During the event that started on the 26th of last month, live commerce was presented twice daily, morning and afternoon, for six days for the first time. On the 6th, SSG.com will newly launch live broadcast content that introduces E-Mart store flyer products in real time. A show host will walk around E-Mart stores and introduce representative products. Additionally, in November, various formats of live commerce will be conducted through further collaborations with brands.
