[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Seoul Metropolitan Council (Chairman Kim In-ho) urgently canceled the administrative audit schedule on the 3rd due to a confirmed COVID-19 case of a Seoul city reporter.
Upon receiving the confirmation of the reporter's positive COVID-19 test in the afternoon, Seoul Metropolitan Council Chairman Kim In-ho announced that to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect the safety of council members and staff, the administrative audit scheduled for that afternoon was urgently canceled. The decision to resume the administrative audit schedule from the 4th will be made based on epidemiological investigations and COVID-19 test results of close contacts.
Regarding the city hall, after recognizing the reporter's positive diagnosis, all employees working in the same building (New City Hall) were immediately sent home, and all employees working on the 2nd floor of the New City Hall, where the reporter's office is located, were instructed to undergo COVID-19 testing.
On the 2nd, more than 30 people including the reporter who tested positive, Seoul city executives, and public officials attended the '2021 Budget Briefing' held by the city executive branch. Since the executives who attended this briefing were scheduled to appear at the administrative audit held at the city council on the 3rd, the Seoul city quarantine officials and the council agreed to fully cancel the afternoon schedule.
Additionally, the city council sent all employees home except for essential personnel and decided to disinfect the council building where the administrative audit is held, including the members' hall and the main building.
