KSD Holds 'Online Economy and Finance Special Lecture' for Specialized High School Students Nationwide
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] The Korea Securities Depository (KSD) announced on the 3rd that it will unify the previously dualized 'public financial education' system, which was managed separately by the Depository and the KSD Nanum Foundation, under the sole management of the KSD Nanum Foundation. It also plans to further activate financial education for financially vulnerable groups such as children with developmental disabilities and youth, expanding it to regions nationwide.
In addition to the existing financial education for youth and financially marginalized groups, the Depository will also discover and provide financial education content for the general public, including adults.
As part of this financial education restructuring, the KSD Nanum Foundation held an 'Economic and Financial Special Lecture with the KSD Nanum Foundation' on the 31st of last month for 486 students from 37 specialized high schools nationwide participating in the 2020 'KSD Dream Growth Scholarship Project.'
The KSD Dream Growth Scholarship Project is a foundation scholarship program that supports scholarships and school development funds to specialized high school students and their schools nationwide through a financial economic literacy certification exam, nurturing future financial talents.
Considering the circumstances of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), this financial special lecture was conducted in a non-face-to-face format, covering various topics necessary for specialized high school students, such as the economy in the post-COVID era, employment special lectures in the financial sector (NCS), and economic and financial knowledge that youth should know.
In particular, each content was composed of lectures by current professionals and practical information such as the latest trends in financial sector recruitment and interview techniques. The Depository expects this to greatly help not only in increasing understanding of the financial economy field but also in the successful social advancement of specialized high school students in the future.
