The early winter cold that arrived on the 3rd will peak on the morning of the 4th and then gradually ease from the afternoon.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 3rd, the first snow was observed the previous day at the Seoraksan Office of the Korea National Park Service (Jungcheong Shelter). This year's first snow on Seoraksan came 18 days later than last year (October 15). Overnight, snow fell on Deogyusan, Odaesan, Gwangdeoksan, Taebaeksan, as well as at the Sobaeksan Second Yeonhwabong Shelter, with snowfall amounts around 1 cm. On this day, the morning low temperature in Seoul was 2.7 degrees Celsius, Incheon 4.4 degrees, and Daejeon 4.0 degrees. In the Gangwon region, temperatures dropped sharply compared to the previous day, with Daegwallyeong at -0.9 degrees and Cheorwon at -0.2 degrees.

Tomorrow morning (the 4th), temperatures will drop another 3 to 5 degrees. Most inland areas are expected to record temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius. Cheorwon and Daegwallyeong in Gangwon will be at -7 degrees, Paju and Yeoncheon in Gyeonggi at -6 degrees, and Chuncheon in Gangwon at -5 degrees. Seoul will also experience below-freezing temperatures for the first time this autumn. The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasts Seoul's morning low temperature tomorrow at -1 degree Celsius. With the wind, the wind chill temperature will drop to -3 degrees. Temperatures will gradually rise after tomorrow morning. The highest daytime temperature on that day is expected to be between 14 and 18 degrees Celsius. The air quality is expected to be generally clear across all regions.
