Access Granted with One Phone Call!...Gwanak-gu Access Control System Fully Implemented
Establishment of a Fast and Accurate Automatic Linkage System Allowing Entry in 10 Seconds... Planned Phased Expansion to Subsidiary Public Institutions and High-Risk Facilities
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is adding and implementing an automatic linkage management method using phone call history to the access control system for COVID-19 prevention and visitor convenience.
The existing manual method and electronic entry log system had difficulties such as false entry of visit information and challenges for elderly users unfamiliar with smartphones.
Accordingly, the district supplemented the shortcomings of the existing methods and introduced an automatic linkage system that is convenient to use and capable of accurate history management.
The automatic linkage system utilizes the district's own administrative phone call history management system. Visitors call the phone number displayed at the entrance and then enter; the visit time and visitor's phone number are managed through the call history left during the call.
Visitors incur no separate call charges, and the records are automatically deleted after 4 weeks. By supplementing the weaknesses of the existing methods, it is expected to increase accuracy and reduce the time required for access management, as it can be easily used with just a mobile phone.
For precise quarantine measures, the district established and operated the automatic linkage system at the district office main building from October 28 and at 21 community service centers from October 30.
Additionally, after pilot operation at public facilities under Gwanak-gu (sports facilities, facilities for the elderly, etc.) from November, once the system is stably established, it will be expanded and operated in high-risk facilities to thoroughly prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “We decided to introduce and expand the automatic linkage access control system to provide residents with convenient access through flawless quarantine measures and safe verification,” adding, “The district will mobilize all administrative capabilities to the fullest to prevent the spread of COVID-19 until the pandemic, which all citizens hope to end, is over.”
