Gurye-gun Selected as Priority Sewerage Maintenance Area... Receives 25.9 Billion KRW in National Funding
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] Jeollanam-do Gurye-gun announced on the 2nd that it has been finally selected as the second phase of the 2020 Sewerage Maintenance Priority Management Area, applied to the Ministry of Environment to prevent flood damage in the Gurye-eup and Masan-myeon areas caused by heavy rain.
With this project selection, the county will receive 25.9 billion KRW, which is 70% of the total project cost of 37 billion KRW, as national funding to promote urban flood prevention projects, taking the lead in protecting the safety and property of residents.
Previously, Gurye-gun actively secured national funds by emphasizing the need for fundamental measures against rainfall intensity with a 30-year frequency due to the geographical conditions of Gurye-gun, where the city is formed in low-lying areas, whenever several central government ministers visited, which earned high marks for this selection.
This project plans to establish sewerage maintenance measures from 2021, complete basic and detailed designs, and after consultation with the Ministry of Environment and funding, start construction in the first half of 2022, aiming for completion by the end of 2026.
The project site includes the construction of a rainwater pumping station and an integrated pump sluice gate in Gurye-eup, the installation and improvement of 3.75 km of sewer pipes, and the installation of 2.14 km of sewer pipes in Masan-myeon.
