Jeonnam Provincial Council Begins Administrative Audit of Provincial and Educational Affairs from the 3rd

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] The Jeonnam Provincial Council announced on the 2nd that it will hold the 348th 2nd regular session from the 3rd of this month to the 16th of next month to conduct administrative audits on provincial administration and educational administration, as well as review and approve the budget for the next year.
First, from the 3rd to the 16th, administrative audits will be conducted on 107 institutions including Jeonnam Province, Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education, affiliated research institutes, and public enterprises.
The Provincial Council has requested a total of 1,548 documents from Jeonnam Province and the Office of Education, including 306 from the Planning and Administration Committee, 276 from the Health, Welfare and Environment Committee, 241 from the Economy, Tourism and Culture Committee, 233 from the Safety, Construction and Fire Committee, 378 from the Agriculture, Forestry, Maritime and Fisheries Committee, and 92 from the Education Committee.
Key audit items by standing committee include the Planning and Administration Committee focusing on "checking whether any preliminary procedures were omitted in establishing the shared property management plan," the Health, Welfare and Environment Committee on "solutions to environmental issues such as air pollution in the Yeosu Industrial Complex," and the Economy, Tourism and Culture Committee on "the progress of the Blue Economy initiative."
The Safety, Construction and Fire Committee plans to conduct a focused audit on the Jeonnam Transportation Training Institute, which has been designated as the first institution subject to administrative audit. The Agriculture, Forestry, Maritime and Fisheries Committee will focus on "the research and development status of the Agricultural Technology Center and the Marine Fisheries Science Institute," and the Education Committee will focus on "the promotion status of integrated schools by region and measures to revitalize rural boarding schools."
Spokesperson Choi Seon-guk stated, "This administrative audit will sharply point out any incorrect issues through active data collection and prior preparation, while actively discovering and promoting good policies. Since this session coincides with next year's budget review, we will meet the expectations of the residents through a substantive administrative audit."

Meanwhile, during the first half of the 11th administrative audit, a total of 819 cases were pointed out and improvements requested, including 38 corrections, 15 cautions, 242 improvements, 460 recommendations, and 64 proposals for Jeonnam Province. The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education pointed out and requested improvements on a total of 213 cases, including 11 corrections, 49 improvements, 141 recommendations, and 12 proposals.
