The Nation's Largest Comprehensive Content Exhibition 'Gwangju ACE Fair' Opens on the 5th
Until the 8th at Kim Daejung Convention Center: Opening the Era of AI and 5G New Content
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 2nd that the ‘2020 Gwangju ACE Fair (Asia Content & Entertainment Fair),’ the largest comprehensive content exhibition in Korea, will be held as a hybrid online and offline exhibition from the 5th to the 8th at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center.
Hosted by Gwangju City and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and organized by the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center, Gwangju Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency, Gwangju Design Promotion Agency, Korea Cable TV Broadcasting Association, and Korea-ASEAN Center, this event is a representative brand exhibition of Gwangju, the Asian cultural hub city. Since 2006, it has annually showcased various contents, facilitated business consultations, and sought overseas exports and investment cooperation.
Under the theme “Opening the New Content Era with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and 5th Generation Mobile Communication (5G),” this exhibition presents a variety of content including artificial intelligence (AI), 5G, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), holograms, broadcasting, characters, animation, and games.
The exhibition held as the main event operates 335 booths from 283 companies related to cultural contents such as games, animation, broadcasting, video, and artificial intelligence, including the themed pavilion ‘G. AI Life in 202x.’
Additionally, various side events will be held, including online business consultations and academic events targeting global customers and buyers, an illustration fair, a special art toy exhibition, an internet video service (OTT) forum, and corporate presentations for investment attraction.
The themed pavilion of the exhibition, ‘G A.I Life in 202X,’ is composed of spaces where visitors can experience various aspects of AI life created by Gwangju, such as an AI living room, workshop, and AI photography events, offering a glimpse into the future.
The ‘2020 Gwangju International Illustration Fair’ and the ‘2020 Art Toy Special Exhibition’ provide visitors with opportunities to engage with diverse art content and experiences.
Through an art content festival that communicates with the public, the local art content industry is revitalized, and a direct communication channel with consumers is established to maximize promotion and sales effects of artworks. Various on-site experience events allow attendees to understand and enjoy art content more deeply.
In line with the rapid growth of the internet video service industry due to restrictions on outdoor activities caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s forum will discuss fostering the internet video service industry under the theme ‘Global Internet Video Service Industry and Market Outlook,’ gathering government officials, domestic and international internet video service companies, academia, content producers, media, and other related experts.
Alongside this, the ‘1st Asia Content Online Video Service Platform Corporate Presentation and Investment Consultation’ will be held to promote the export and co-production activation of domestic content such as broadcasting, animation, and characters.
Domestic online video service companies such as TVING and Wavve, foreign online video service companies including Tencent and Mango TV, six investment groups including Daekyo Investment, and seven domestic broadcasters including Korean Educational Broadcasting System (EBS), Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), Jaeneung, Daekyo, and Tooniverse will participate.
Various game-related events will also be held, including the ‘Together Game Culture TALK Concert’ hosted by the Korea Creative Content Agency and Game Culture Foundation, the ‘Good Gamer Family Gwangju Competition’ hosted by the Game Rating and Administration Committee, and the ‘Board Game Competition & Experience Exhibition’ hosted by the Korea Board Game Industry Association.
Furthermore, various events that citizens can participate in will be held during the exhibition period, such as the ‘AI Mock Interview Experience,’ where participants can experience AI mock interviews and attend briefings by HR representatives from large companies, and the ‘Citizen YouTuber Class.’
In particular, a thorough quarantine system will be operated to ensure a safe exhibition from COVID-19.
Entry will be primarily for pre-registered participants, with a limit of one person per 4㎡, and a four-stage quarantine system starting from the parking lot entrance of the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center will set the standard for safe exhibition hosting.
Last year, the Gwangju ACE Fair achieved 2,284 consultations worth 380 billion KRW and on-site contracts worth 23 billion KRW, and signed 24 memorandums of understanding.
