Despite concerns over the COVID-19 situation, the event was evaluated as successfully and substantively conducted.
The ‘2020 Miryang Arirang International Yoga Conference’ presented 45 diverse and substantial educational programs under the theme of ‘Yoga for World Health and Peace.’ Turning the COVID crisis into an opportunity, it introduced a new model by connecting world-renowned speakers such as Professor Sat Bir Singh Khalsa from Harvard University online, allowing anyone to participate in lectures without restrictions.
At the opening ceremony, a Miryang yoga performance was held featuring movements reminiscent of Miryang’s warm sunshine and Arirang. Miryang-si plans to nurture yoga performance teams and showcase them on various stages in the future.
Miryang-si explained that this year’s conference, marking its fourth year, attracted a record 19 provincial partners including the Indian Embassy, establishing itself as a yoga event recognized worldwide.
