Joo Ho-young: "Democratic Party Publicizes 86% Unconscionable... Third Victimization of Women"
"Daegu·Gyeongbuk, the Strong Pillars Supporting Conservatism... Will Be a Reliable Force"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Joo Ho-young, floor leader of the People Power Party, criticized the Democratic Party's decision to field candidates in the Seoul and Busan mayoral by-elections next April after amending the party constitution through a vote of all party members, saying, "86% of Democratic Party members' lack of conscience has been made public to the people."
After concluding the Daegu Budget Policy Council held at Daegu City Hall on the same day, Floor Leader Joo told reporters, "The Democratic Party has committed third-party harm to the victims in the name of the Democratic Party by as much as 86%."
Regarding the New Deal projects promoted by the government, Floor Leader Joo said, "The president's term is just over one year left, but many New Deal projects will continue long after that," adding, "If the first button is fastened incorrectly, budget waste is expected to be severe, so we will thoroughly examine whether these projects are nationally essential."
The People Power Party visited Daegu City on the day to hold the Budget Policy Council. In his greeting, Floor Leader Joo said, "Daegu and Gyeongbuk have played a major role as a strong pillar supporting conservatism in South Korea and are regions with a special sense of ownership for our society and country," adding, "We will actively support the construction of a railway network connecting the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Integrated New Airport, the establishment of smooth transportation networks like regional main arteries, securing a runway length of over 3,500 meters at the new airport, and the administrative integration of Daegu and Gyeongbuk."
Floor Leader Joo emphasized, "We will strive so that the People Power Party can become a strong support for Daegu and Gyeongbuk, which have been a reliable strength for the People Power Party."

Kwon Young-jin, mayor of Daegu, said, "The budget reflected by the government upon Daegu City's request increased by 8.6% compared to the previous year, but for new projects, only 42.8% of the requested amount was reflected due to reasons such as lack of urgency," adding, "Additional reflection during the National Assembly review process is urgently needed, so we ask for active interest and cooperation." He also urged support and cooperation, saying, "The budget for establishing an infectious disease specialized hospital in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area is an urgent task that must be reflected in this National Assembly session."
