LG Uplus Launches 'Home IoT' 5G Rate Package
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] LG Uplus has launched a new 5G plan called the ‘Smart Home Pack.’
According to LG Uplus on the 2nd, the ‘Smart Home Pack’ is one of the optional premium services offered to U+5G mobile customers. It is the fourth package following ▲ the ‘Netflix Pack,’ which offers free Netflix usage ▲ the ‘Cloud Game Pack,’ which provides free access to the streaming game GeForce NOW ▲ and the ‘Smart Device Pack,’ which offers a 50% discount on the world’s first 5G AR glasses, ‘U+ Real Glass.’
The existing three category packs did not include any home Internet of Things (IoT) related services. Customers who subscribe to the newly established ‘Smart Home Pack’ will receive a bundle including ▲ the AI speaker ‘Google Nest Hub’ equipped with a 7-inch screen ▲ a ‘Mood Light’ with features such as adjustable light color and brightness, as well as sleep and focus modes ▲ and a ‘Multi-tap’ that controls power to home appliances and helps prevent fire hazards.
The ‘Smart Home Pack’ can be selected when subscribing to either of the two ‘5G Premier Super’ or ‘Plus’ plans. These two plans offer unlimited 5G data at monthly fees of 115,000 KRW and 105,000 KRW (VAT included), respectively. With combined discounts from the optional contract discount and the ‘LTE Rate As Is’ benefit, the monthly fees can be reduced to 81,000 KRW and 73,500 KRW (VAT included), respectively.
