‘Muan Hyanggyo Gate Opens’ Receives Great Response from Residents and Tourists

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 30th that it operated various experiential programs for first-year students of Muanbuk Middle School, who are experiencing the Free Semester System, for four days starting from the 26th at Muan Hyanggyo, including natural dyeing using purple onion skins, making rice clay songpyeon, and tea ceremony experiences.
This experiential activity is composed of cultural enjoyment programs such as humanities spirit cultivation, education, and experience. Following last year's theme, "Talent, Skill, and Persistence, Awakening the 600-Year-Old Ginkgo Tree with Double Memories," this year’s theme, "The Hyanggyo Doors Have Opened," received great responses from residents and tourists.
The teacher in charge of leading the students said, "Due to COVID-19, students who could not properly hold an entrance ceremony and only attended classes inside the school had a rare opportunity to go outside the school and spend a joyful and meaningful time," adding, "We will continue to take an interest in local cultural assets and participate in experiential activities continuously."
Meanwhile, at Muan Hyanggyo, for the purpose of cultural heritage utilization projects, the "3rd Muan Gyogung Moonlight Concert" will be held on the 30th from 6 p.m. at the special stage in front of the Muan Hyanggyo Haengdan.
