'Jeju Port International Passenger Terminal Arrival Hall Installation Construction' Completed on the 30th... Normal Operation from November
New Arrival Hall Created on 1st Floor of Existing Duty-Free Building... Separation of Movement Paths and Security Issues Resolved
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Chang-won] Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced on the 29th that the "Jeju Port International Passenger Terminal Arrival Hall Installation Construction" is nearing completion and is scheduled to be completed on the 30th.
The project, with a total budget of 2.2 billion KRW (entirely funded by the national government), will complete interior work on the 30th, followed by test operations and security-related procedures for facility installation, and is expected to be fully operational in November.
Through this construction, Jeju Province has designated the existing arrival and departure halls to be used as the departure hall, and created a new arrival hall in a new area (the first floor of the former duty-free shop building).
Accordingly, the movement paths for arrivals and departures at Jeju Port International Passenger Terminal have been completely separated, resolving security issues that were previously raised due to overlapping routes.
Before the arrival hall installation construction, cruise ships and international passengers shared the same area (the second floor of the passenger terminal) at Jeju Port International Passenger Terminal, causing inconvenience to residents due to overlapping routes during arrival and departure inspections, and operational difficulties such as the need for constant route separation were continuously raised.
