Professor Emeritus Jo Myeong-ok of Dong-Eui University Department of Nursing Awarded 'Nurse of the Year'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Professor Emeritus Jo Myung-ok of the Department of Nursing, College of Medical, Health, and Life Sciences at Dong-Eui University (President Han Su-hwan) was selected as the recipient of the ‘Nurse of the Year Award’ at the ‘87th Regular General Assembly of the Korean Nurses Association’ held on October 20.
The Nurse of the Year Award is given to individuals who have established the status of the nursing profession by practicing the spirit of Nightingale or who have embodied the nursing spirit through good deeds and volunteer activities.
On this day, Professor Jo Myung-ok, Head Nurse Kim Young-ae of Seoul Sacred Heart Hospital, Local Deputy Director Baek Yoon-ja of Daegu City Health and Welfare Bureau, and the nursing departments of Sokcho Medical Center and Sokcho Bogwang Hospital received the Nurse of the Year Award.
Professor Jo Myung-ok served as a professor of adult and gerontological nursing at Dong-Eui University for 25 years since 1995. In particular, she introduced, established, and developed qualitative research methods in the field of nursing and published more than 90 papers related to qualitative research methods in prestigious domestic and international academic journals.
She also published over 70 academic papers and contributed to the training of future scholars and the advancement of Korean nursing by serving as a manuscript reviewer and editorial board member for the Korean Academy of Nursing Science, the Korean Society of Adult Nursing, and the Korean Gerontological Nursing Society.
