Seoul City Extends Emergency Livelihood Support Fund Application for COVID-19 Crisis Households Until November 6
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Seoul City announced on the 28th that it will extend the application period for the 'Emergency Livelihood Support Fund for Crisis Households,' which supports households with reduced income due to the COVID-19 pandemic, by one week until the 6th of next month.
The city has been accepting online applications through the Bokjiro website since the 12th and started on-site applications at community service centers from the 19th. To maintain social distancing, applications were accepted on a five-day rotation basis according to the last digit of the birth year, but this system was abolished with the extension of the application period.
However, it was explained that strict social distancing and quarantine management will be enforced at the reception centers to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The Emergency Livelihood Support Fund for Crisis Households is available to households with a median income of 75% or less (3,562,000 KRW for a four-person household), assets of 600 million KRW or less, and whose business income (earned income) has decreased compared to before the COVID-19 outbreak. The support amounts are 400,000 KRW for a single-person household, 600,000 KRW for a two-person household, 800,000 KRW for a three-person household, and 1,000,000 KRW for households of four or more.
The head of the household, a household member of the same household, or a proxy (such as a legal representative) must bring their ID and visit the community service center in their residential area to submit the application form, consent form for personal information provision (including household members), and proof of income reduction.
Additionally, when applying on-site, besides income verification documents issued by public institutions such as the National Tax Service, bank transaction statements confirming income or self-written income reduction reports by daily workers or small business owners who cannot provide income proof will be accepted.
