From the 19th to the 23rd, applications for the '2021 Secondary Teacher Employment Exam' were accepted through the online recruitment system. A total of 4,039 applicants applied for 706 positions, including 559 public and 147 private, showing an average competition rate of 5.72 to 1.
For the public positions selecting 559 teachers, 3,466 applicants applied, showing an average competition rate of 6.20 to 1. The Korean subject recorded the highest competition rate of 14.13 to 1 with 424 applicants for 30 positions.
For the disability recruitment, 29 applicants applied for 39 positions, showing a competition rate of 0.74 to 1. For the island area separate recruitment, 27 applicants applied for 3 positions, showing a competition rate of 9 to 1. For the school separate recruitment, 9 applicants applied for 1 position, showing a competition rate of 9 to 1.
For the private positions selecting 147 teachers, 573 applicants applied as first choice, recording a competition rate of 3.9 to 1, and 2,058 applied as second choice.
The gender ratio of applicants showed that for public teachers, males accounted for 29% (1,017) and females 71% (2,449), while for private teachers, males accounted for 51% (288) and females 49% (285).
