Coupang Appoints Lawyer Kang Han-seung as New Chief Operating Officer
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Coupang announced on the 28th that it has appointed Kang Hanseung, former Kim & Chang lawyer, as President and CEO in charge of General Management.
Before joining Coupang, President Kang served as Legal Secretary to the Blue House, judge at the Seoul High Court, judge dispatched to the National Assembly, Judicial Cooperation Officer at the Embassy in the United States, government representative to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), and government representative to the Hague Conference on Private International Law, gaining extensive experience in domestic and international legal fields. Since 2013, he has worked as a lawyer at Kim & Chang law firm, providing legal advice to various technology innovation companies including Coupang.
President Kang will oversee the entire legal and general management sectors at Coupang going forward.
