View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Haman County, Gyeongnam announced on the 27th that the local tax research club "Arase Sang," organized by the Korea Institute of Local Finance (KILF), won the Local Tax Research Institute Director's Award and received a prize of 2 million won at the "2020 Local Tax Research Club Excellent Report Presentation Contest."
The contest was held on the 23rd at the Korea Institute of Local Finance located in Seocho-gu, Seoul, where participating local government officials shared research achievements on expanding local tax revenue and efficient delinquent tax collection methods.
Kim Byung-soo, a staff member working in the Tax Accounting Division of the county office who attended as a presenter from Haman County, gave a presentation titled "Secondary Taxpayer Liability of Investors Examined through Precedents and Improvement Proposals," introducing delinquent tax collection techniques considering the fairness of secondary taxpayer liability imposed on major shareholders of corporations.

An official from the county's Tax Accounting Division stated, "We hope that the collection techniques developed by Haman County in this presentation will be disseminated to many local governments and play a significant role in increasing tax revenue," adding, "We will continue to do our best to secure the stability of local finances through discovering innovative and creative ideas."
