[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] Hyundai Steel announced during the Q3 earnings conference call on the 27th that "to reduce carbon emissions, we have decided to install a dry quenching facility for coke ovens at the steelworks starting from next year's investment plan," and added, "We have currently begun inspections for the investment." They continued, "The investment cost is approximately 350 billion KRW, but the reduction in carbon emission allowances resulting from this is expected to offset the total cost and be recovered within 5 to 6 years," and stated, "We will begin the investment from next year and aim to reduce carbon emission allowance risks through these efforts."
