According to the legal community on the 26th, Judge Ji Yoon-seop of the Family Division 1 at Cheongju District Court ruled in favor of the plaintiff, Mr. A, in the divorce and alimony claim lawsuit filed against Ko Yoo-jeong. The court ordered Ko Yoo-jeong to pay Mr. A 30 million won in alimony. The court judged that the marriage was broken due to Ko Yoo-jeong’s criminal acts and subsequent detention, leading to this decision.

Ko Yoo-jeong obtained full custody and parental rights after divorcing her ex-husband in 2017. However, she was arrested and indicted in May last year on charges of killing her ex-husband during a meeting with her son. Ko Yoo-jeong was also indicted for killing her stepson who was sleeping at her Cheongju residence in March last year, but she was acquitted in both the first and second trials and is currently awaiting the Supreme Court’s decision.
