View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] On the 25th, Yoon Hee-sook, a member of the People Power Party, criticized the government’s three major national projects, including the 'Korean New Deal,' saying that about 120 trillion won in additional budget will be invested even after President Moon Jae-in’s term ends in 2022, asking, "Is this country yours?"
On the same day, Yoon posted on her Facebook page an analysis of the government’s key projects such as the 'National Balanced Development Project,' 'Korean New Deal,' and 'Innovation City Season 2,' estimating that 17.8 trillion won, 87.7 trillion won, and 10 trillion won respectively will be required after 2022.
Regarding this, Yoon said, "Does this sound like a story about a country never experienced before, concerning the unchecked behavior of the judiciary, prosecution, media, and high-ranking officials?" and pointed out, "To me, the way the Moon administration manages the national finances is astonishing in itself."
He added, "The Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye administrations did not plan large-scale projects that would impose massive expenditures on the next government," criticizing, "It is a minimum responsibility and decency for those entrusted with running the country for a certain period."
He continued, "There is a rule that the government of the Republic of Korea has kept without needing to be explicitly stated," and pointed out, "However, this government has planned to pass on as much as about 120 trillion won to the next administration."
