Hong Joon-pyo: "If Kim Jong-in leaves, that's it... An extraordinary decision is needed"
"Neither Here Nor There Left-Center... Losing the Home Crowd"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Former Liberty Korea Party leader Hong Joon-pyo criticized the recent public opinion poll showing the People Power Party's approval rating, calling it a "desperate figure that doesn't even reach 24%, the level during the impeachment presidential election," on the 25th.
On the same day, Hong posted on Facebook, "Despite the chaotic situation of the ruling party, this is not only evidence that the people do not see the opposition as an alternative party, but also proof that they view it as a well-being or pseudo-progressive party, a secondary party," he criticized.
Hong stated, "Rather than struggling toward the center, the current structure is 35% right-wing, 35% left-wing, and 30% non-affiliated voters. We should first unite our 35% base and then move toward the center, but instead, with a centrist left-click that is neither here nor there and powerless parliamentary struggles, we are making the mistake of losing even our core supporters," adding, "This is a time that requires extraordinary determination."

Hong also said, "As Kim Jong-in, the emergency committee chairman of the People Power Party, said, he can just leave, but those who remain will have to go through another chaotic period pressed for time," and emphasized, "We should not be passively dragged along but lead and create the situation."
