U.S. Newsweekly TIME Replaces Cover Logo 'TIME' with 'VOTE' for the First Time in History
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] The American newsweekly TIME removed the 'TIME' logo from its cover and replaced it with 'VOTE' for the first time in its 97-year history.
TIME announced on the 24th (local time) that on the November 2nd issue, one day before the U.S. presidential election on November 3rd, it placed the word 'VOTE' instead of the 'TIME' logo on the cover. This is the first time since its first publication in 1923 that TIME has removed its logo from the cover.
The cover features a person partially covering their face with a bandana (a large scarf-like handkerchief) illustrated with a ballot box. This cover was designed by Shepard Fairey, an artist known for his anti-President Trump stance. Fairey also designed Barack Obama's 'Hope' poster during the 2008 presidential campaign.
