The Korean Society of Cardiology Publishes the Most Papers for 18 Consecutive Years...Proving Top Research Capability
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chonnam National University Hospital has achieved outstanding research results by recording the highest number of paper presentations for 18 consecutive years at the Korean Society of Cardiology.
According to Chonnam National University Hospital on the 23rd, the Department of Cardiology (Head Professor Kim Gyehun) and the Cardiovascular Convergence Research Center (Director Professor Jeong Myeongho) recently presented a total of 113 papers at the 64th Autumn Scientific Meeting of the Korean Society of Cardiology, including 35 oral presentations, 13 oral posters, 28 e-posters, and 37 joint research papers.
This accounts for 22% of the total 506 papers presented at this conference, continuing the remarkable record of the highest number of paper presentations for 18 consecutive years since 2003.
Chonnam National University Hospital analyzes that these research achievements stem from a solid research foundation based on the treatment of the largest number of acute myocardial infarction patients nationwide and the performance of cardiac interventions.
It is also evaluated as proof that both medical staff and researchers are dedicated to high-quality research with the highest pride in the nation.
The hospital continues to elevate its status domestically and internationally, and it is expected to have a significant impact on the future establishment of the National Cardiovascular Center.
At this conference, the active participation of cardiology professors, nurses, and medical technicians from Chonnam National University Hospital stood out.
Professor Jeong Myeongho and Professor Ahn Younggeun of the Department of Cardiology at Chonnam National University Hospital held an international symposium on acute myocardial infarction research together with Japan, China, and Singapore.
Professor Jo Kyunghoon and Research Professor Park Daesung presented the Tiger Stent and biodegradable stents, cardiovascular stents developed at Chonnam National University Hospital, receiving applause from attendees.
Additionally, Jeong Aeran, head nurse of the cardiovascular intensive care unit, Kim Jeongsim, outpatient nurse at the Heart Center, research nurses Oh Misook and Son Boram, and medical technicians Kim Jeonghun, Lee Doohwan, and Jin Younghoon from the Heart Center's catheterization lab delivered oral presentations that captured the attention of attendees.

In particular, research nurse Oh Misook, who has worked at the Heart Center for the past 17 years, conducted a three-year clinical observation of patients with reduced renal function among Korean myocardial infarction registry patients and wrote a doctoral dissertation, which she presented orally.
