View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Changwon City in Gyeongnam announced the results of the 'Citizens Create It! Changwon Tourism Brand Contest' judging on the 23rd.
According to the city, a total of 166 entries were submitted from the character category with 70 entries and the slogan category with 96 entries, received from the 28th of last month to the 6th of this month. Through evaluations by judges composed of experts in various fields such as tourism, cultural content, and design, as well as an online citizen preference survey, a total of 24 works were finally selected.
The grand prize in the character category was awarded to 'Aro,' a cute character combining a monkfish and a robot; 'Gamsae,' combining migratory birds of Junam Reservoir and persimmons; and 'Beojin,' personifying cherry blossoms wearing a navy hat. These characters, collectively called 'Changwon Tourism Friends,' showcased various charms and won the honor.
The grand prize in the slogan category went to 'Changwon愛 Gagopa,' which succinctly expresses the meaning of "Let's go to the lovely tourist city Changwon."
Winners will receive a total prize money of 6.6 million KRW and a certificate signed by the mayor within this month. Additionally, the winning works will be exhibited on the first floor of Changwon City Hall for five days from the 26th to the 30th for citizens to view. These winning works will later be refined by professional designers and utilized for Changwon tourism promotion and marketing.

Hwang Gyu-jong, Director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Changwon City, said, "We will actively utilize the characters and slogans created directly by citizens to enhance the brand of Changwon tourism," and added, "We ask for the citizens' great interest and support so that Changwon can make a leap forward through tourism."
