View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Jeonnam Office of Education announced on the 22nd that Suncheon Palma Middle School won the championship by defeating Haman Middle School 2-0 in the boys' middle school division at the '2020 Maritime Kingdom Sogaya Cup National Boys and Girls Middle and High School Volleyball Tournament' held in Goseong, Gyeongnam from the 14th to the 21st.
To prevent COVID-19, the tournament was held without spectators and restricted external access. Suncheon Palma Middle School advanced to the finals by defeating Hadong Middle School 2-1 in the preliminary round, then sweeping Daeyeon Middle School (2-0), Hyeonil Middle School (2-0), Munil Middle School (2-0), and Yeonhyeon Middle School (2-0).
In this tournament, Jeonnam middle and high school volleyball teams achieved great success with all participating teams placing, including Suncheon Palma Middle School winning the boys' middle school division, Mokpo Girls' Commercial High School as runner-up in the girls' high school division, Beolgyo High School placing third in the boys' high school division, and Mokpo Yeonghwa Middle School placing third in the girls' middle school division.
Additionally, Jeong Song-yoon of Suncheon Palma Middle School received the Most Valuable Player award, Park Kyung-hyun received the Setter award, and Coach Jo Seung-hoon was honored with the Excellent Coach award.
