Yeonggwang-gun 'Social Economy Startup School' Completion Ceremony
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 22nd that 18 graduates of the 'Social Economy Startup School' attended the graduation ceremony held in the small conference room of the county office.
This academy, entrusted to the professional educational institution Social Cooperative Regional Innovation Economic Solidarity, was prepared from August to this month for residents who hope to start or are interested in social economy, aiming to revitalize the social economy and discover and nurture social economy organizations.
The curriculum included understanding of social economy, sharing cases, establishing business models, and mentoring, and was conducted non-face-to-face due to COVID-19.
Governor Kim Junsung said, "I have seen village enterprises composed of communities operate healthily and develop into nationwide social economy enterprises," adding, "There is a village enterprise in the county that received the national best award, so I hope these enterprises actively utilize networks with the county and grow into sound social economy enterprises."
The county plans to continue promoting startups such as village enterprises or (preliminary) social enterprises in connection with the Social Cooperative Regional Innovation Economic Solidarity to provide continuous information and practical startup preparation.

Meanwhile, the county currently operates 8 (preliminary) social enterprises, 6 village enterprises, 20 cooperatives, 8 social cooperatives, totaling 42 social economy enterprises.
