[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Honam Regional Statistics Office (Director Lee Hoseok) announced on the 21st that it held the 'Honam Regional Statistics Office-Local Government Regional Statistics Development Forum' at the Holiday Inn Hotel.
About 50 people, including statistics officers from 29 metropolitan and basic local governments in Gwangju and Jeonnam, attended the forum.
This event was organized to discuss the development and cooperation plans for regional statistics, as the importance of regional statistics is increasingly emphasized not only as basic data for regional policy establishment but also as a means for accurate decision-making.
In particular, this year’s forum included topics such as 'The Necessity of Regional Statistics from a Journalist’s Perspective' and 'Introduction of Policy Utilization Cases,' designed to stimulate local governments' interest in regional statistics and provide content that helps regional development, offering an opportunity for the Honam region’s statistics to be upgraded to the next level.
