Gyeongnam Uiryeong-gun, Jungchon District Residents' 'Quality of Life' Dramatically Changed
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] The Uiryeong branch of the Korea Rural Community Corporation has started the 'Jungchon District Rural Vulnerable Area Living Condition Improvement Project' commissioned by Uiryeong-gun, targeting Jungchon Village in Daeui-myeon, Uiryeong-gun.
The Jungchon district in Uiryeong-gun was selected as a new project site in 2020 and is currently establishing the basic plan. After the basic plan and detailed design on paper, construction is scheduled to begin in 2021 and the project is planned to be completed in 2023.
Currently, Daeui-myeon has 55 households and 80 residents living in an area of 90,000㎡. Under the supervision of the Korea Rural Community Corporation Uiryeong branch, 8 village residents' meetings (education), 3 consulting sessions, and 2 advanced site visits are being promoted.
This project involves an investment of 1.8 billion KRW from national and local funds to carry out renovations such as repairing old houses, removing slate roofs, demolishing vacant houses, maintaining sewage pipelines, and improving traditional toilets.
